The early-Noughties virtual pet website Neopets may be coming to a Nintendo Switch near you. Epic is losing hundreds of millions of dollars in its war against Steam
In its bid to take on Steam with the Epic Games Store, the company behind Fortnite is burning through hundreds of millions of dollars on exclusives and free games. The Epic Games Store releases free games every week, and has snapped up a number of eye-catching PC launch exclusives since it went live in December 2018. Of course, it's expected that providing so many free games and timed exclusives would cost Epic cold hard cash - but the sheer numbers at play are eye-watering, and it's all spent at a loss. Forget The Past, Nintendo's Future Is Focused On New IP And "Staple Series"
Resurrecting forgotten franchises does not appear to be a priority. Would you like to see Nintendo revive some of its older and perhaps lesser-known IPs for the Switch generation? Well, if Shuntaro Furukawa's latest comments are anything to go by, it's probably best not to get your hopes up. During an interview with Nikkei earlier this week, the Nintendo president explained how much of the company's current focus was on "new ideas" and what's next (aka the future).

THQ Nordic's Destroy All Humans remake heading to Switch this summer
THQ Nordic is bringing the high-gloss extraterrestrial terrorising of last year's Destroy All Humans remake to Switch this summer, with the game set to arrive on 29th June. Developed by Black Forest Games, the Destroy All Humans remake takes the 2005 PS2 and Xbox original - in which evil alien clone Crypto-137 rampages across 1950s Earth, obliterating every man, woman, and bovine in his path - and gives it a gloriously lavish lick of paint. The fundamentals remain the same - meaning on-foot and UFO-bound missions across six large, open levels in which players cause devastation using psychokinetic powers and alien weapons of dubious purpose - but it's all given a fresh lease of life with presentational enhancements including some truly sumptuous visuals. Destroy All Humans Brings Its Earth Conquering Madness to Switch on 29th June
Welcome to Earth. Destroy All Humans! was a bit of a cult-classic on the PS2 and original Xbox, adopting some crude humour, chaotic fun and flipping the script on the whole aliens-attacking-Earth narrative; you play as the aliens, and as the name makes clear you're not there to make friends. THQ Nordic and developer Black Forest Games gave it the remaster treatment on assorted systems last Summer, and now it's finally making its way to Nintendo Switch with a 29th June release date.
