Control developer Remedy working on Alan Wake 2 - report
Last year, Control developer Remedy announced it had signed a two-project publishing deal with Epic Games, and then re-introduced its fan favourite hero Alan Wake via Control's excellent second expansion, which wove the story of both games together as part of Remedy's wider narrative universe. Was Wake being teed up to tease a full sequel to his Xbox 360 cult hit? After Epic's publishing deal was announced - for a big "AAA multiplatform game already in pre-production" and a "new, smaller-scale project set in the same franchise" - fans' hopes were high that Wake would also appear in one of these games.

Way back in 2013, when Rust was only just hitting Steam Early Access, the survival game's first trailer gave us a taste of what a first day in its wild world might look like. Suitably called the 'Rust: First Day' trailer, it's a pretty rough-n'-ready compilation of its different gameplay features - and, nearly eight years on, one fan has decided to lovingly recreate it, frame-by-frame. Rust fan TheManFrom_Mars (Square Earth, on YouTube) has posted his creation on the multiplayer game's subreddit, explaining that, following a recent thread he posted about the original trailer, he was inspired to make an updated version of the clip, reflecting where Rust's at now.

Rockstar officially implementing fan-made fix that massively reduces GTA Online load times
Rockstar has confirmed it'll be releasing an update that officially implements a recent fan-made fix to reduce Grand Theft Auto Online's painfully long load times by up to 70 percent. At the tail-end of February, a programmer going by the name of t0st did a little probing into GTA Online's notoriously protracted load times - ones that can leave players waiting upward of five minutes to start a game - and made a number of fascinating discoveries. The full story has been handily transformed into something approaching layman's terms by Digital Foundry's Will Judd, but the quick version is that a quirk of GTA Online's loading processes saw it performing nearly 2 billion (largely pointless) item checks before each game. Crysis Remastered PC: DLSS is added - but are the major issues resolved?
It's been over six months since Crysis Remastered launched on PC and it's fair to say that as a gigantic fan of the original game, I was left disappointed by its re-emergence - while there was much to praise, legacy baggage from the Xbox 360 and PS3 ports effectively saw aspects of the game lacking compared to the 2007 original, while CPU performance was not where it should have been.
